About Growing Up Refugee

The "Growing Up Refugee" team, is devoted to promoting awareness to Syrian Refugee children and how their torture and sadness can be resolved. Our main goal is to create a meaningful story that educates, inspires, and involves you and your fellow friends and familes around the world. The Syrian children deserve their voices heard...we just want to be their microphone.

What We've Learned...

We have seen the chaos and destruction caused by the Syrian revolution with our own eyes...and now through filming in Za'atari we have seen it through a child's eyes too. A lost generation of children are growing up in Jordan refugee camps. No longer able to go home or have proper education; a detrimental crises is brewing within the Syrian people. We have been to the second largest refugee camp in the world, Za'atari. Within this tented city we have seen the tumultous devastation and heartacthe that has plagued this once beautiful culture. We have witnessed, first hand, how these children are coping with the daily pressures of life at camp and where their lives might be heading next. Through the eyes of children of all ages, we have seen just how devastating things have gotten and hopefully through our passion and skills in spreading awareness for these children and their futures something can change. No one deserves to have their life, hopes and aspirations ripped from them.

Where We're Headed...

In the next few months we will have Growing Up Refugee debut in theatres around the U.S. constantly spreading the word and promoting awareness to the main reason we are all here...the children. Our hopes are that this film will gain enough of a following and be an inspiration to the Syrian refugee children that they are not completely in teh dark and they will ALWAYS have a friend wanting them to succeed and trying to do everything in their power to make their futures bright and prosperous. Through the assistance of refugee organizations at Yale, UNHCR, and UNICEF; Within the next few months and on, we want this film to be in the hearts and mouths of everyone it comes in contact with. Help us spread the word...you wont regret it.
